Auckland Champs 2008

22 of Neil Ludlam's cyclists are heading down to The New Zealand Track
nationals in Invercargill on the 22nd of February after competing in
the annual auckland champs and qualifying to compete in the nationals.

On the 1st of February the Auckland Champs started and was a great
first night with Time Trials for all Grades except for the new Under
13 Grade. This was a demo event this year and we hope it continues as
numbers grow in this area. Above Lauren McHugh winning the Bronze Medal
in the U17 Girls 500m clearly the second best first year in the competition
aagainst Stephanie McKenzie the title holder in the U15 New Zealand
500m laast year
on the 2nd of February the day started off at 9.30am with sprint seeding
round, pursuit qualifying rounds, 
Jessica Holder finishing 3rd in the U19 Women 500m Time Trial.
Sam Webster winning the Silver in the U19 Mens Kilo 
after a long break the events were started up again at 6pm.the Scratch
races including the Junior U15 girls 1500m scratch final, junior u15
boys 2000m scratch final,
Alex Stancliffe continues to dominate the grade and looks promising
for the National championships in early March.
Sprint semi-finals, Junior u15 girls and boys 3-lap derby finals,
An under 13 boys and girls race was held. the young riders enjoyed
themselves showing off their new young talent with many of the riders
never racing in a major event before with such a large crowd.

The last and final day was on wednesday 6 february- Waitangi Day, this
day was all points races for all grades:
Alex Stancliffe made a clean sweep of all the U15 Boys Titles. 500m
Time Trial, 2000m Scratch, 1500m Derby, and the Points Race.

Results
